With Corona Doubling Rate in India, Telangana Doctors Calls for a Quit

After getting escalated in number three according to the worst country for COVID-19 strick nation, after getting counting in ascending of the US and Brazil. The nation is now losing it’s well-skilled forefront fighters as there no protective gear, no salary, or health insurance coverage. According to the latest news, Telangana’s 10 resident government doctors and more private doctors have called out for a break and undated leave from the duties of COVID-19. As per the latest information update, it is also learned that 70 private nurses have not reported to their duties sooner. With the crunch of time, as corona pandemic is raising its bar every day. The absence of skilled doctors and paramedical staff will add more to the misery and rising numbers according to global stats.

According to the sources, it is revealed that lack of safety gear, improper salary structure, and insurance unavailability, fear of infecting their family members unknowingly stands as the main reason for the quit. As stated by the Health Ministry, India’s COVID recovery rate is improving and is higher than the national average of 66.77%. Additionally, as per the latest news collective and focussed efforts for containment and under-locked areas the situation has not to be worsened with the rising number of patients leaving blooming recovery numbers like 4,09,082 patients in India.

But, the rising number of recovery hasn’t been able to camouflage the shaken availability of safety gear to the doctors and paramedical staff in this cruel time. As learned about the Telangana’s doctor quit, the doctors were much demoralized by the availability of the poor and degraded quality of  PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) suite and safety shield from getting protected from this contagious disease. Due to the cause, 300 medical staff have already been under off-duty as they have been contaminated with the COVID-19 symptoms.

The situation has also become so underlying that in June a nurse was about to get retired but by getting positive with corona, she could not be saved. According to the latest news, her husband has also got contaminated with the disease and is under observation. It is learned through the latest news that the nurse was a patient of high blood pressure and diabetes and was forced to be in charge of COVID-Ward. Both stand as the impediment reason in losing the life that could have helped many to get cured.

Keeping heed with the corona doubling rate in India, doctors have been demanding to regularize the services which the Health Minister B Srirlamulu has assured to get it discussed in the upcoming Cabinet meeting. Earlier, doctors have also warned to get everything normalized before June 30, but sadly it didn’t. Now, it is stated according to the information update that 507 doctors will boycott work after July 8 if things do not get worked out. Till now no official statement has been received by the Health Ministry on the undated strike or quit by the 507 doctors.

Contrary to the rising COVID -19 patients, earlier the Central government has also accused the Chief Ministry and its ministry in handling the situation. BJP MLA T Raja Singh through a video clip said that the Chief Ministry should come out and look at how the virus is spreading into the state.

According to the information update, Singh quoted by saying, “Doctors are going for a strike as there are four crores of the population in the state. But, whosoever have tested positive from corona, have only been referred to Gandhi hospital and if any patient dies during the COVID treatment then doctors and paramedical staffs are been attacked mercilessly. These incidents are majorly happening in Gandhi hospital. Chief Minister, is it not visible to you?”

He also added, “Wherever you are, come out and yourself examine the situation and how Telangana is getting affected by this deadly virus without any medication. Check the government hospital and get to know how many patients are getting treated and see how doctors are ill-treated and patients are dying.”
