Is Russia all set to make a Global Benchmark for Coronavirus Vaccines?

 

It may seem that soon corona-agony will get pinned down with the official launch of coronavirus vaccines from Russia. Presently, the situation is not better than in doldrums where 150 countries are trying their best to push out the most reliable and result-driven coronavirus vaccines to save billions of lives from further getting spiralled in the pandemic, amidst rising numbers and cases of COVID-19 cases globally. Russia has finally been addressed as a torch-bearer to curb coronavirus from further spreading. 

According to the latest news, several reports have asserted that clinical trials of vaccination over humans are complete. But, as stated by the sources, it is claimed that Russia is all through Phase 1. Phase 2-3 are still left. Additionally, it is said that the vaccine candidate is jointly put up by Gamalei National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Defense Ministry.  

 

The first of the coronavirus trials started on June 18, which included 18 volunteers from armed forces. That is said to get concluded on July 15. According to the sources, the coronavirus vaccine from Russia is treating the second set of volunteers starting from July 13. 

Phase 1 

During Phase 1, the coronavirus vaccines were getting treated on the basis of tolerance and stability. So, to make everything work smoothly and without any added danger to human health. The first phase of the test was conducted in a small group. Additionally, according to the latest report by the Russian Defense Ministry, it was stated that the coronavirus trial has no side-effect that can get witnessed in the tested sample. The armed forces who voluntarily came forward to help the coronavirus vaccines to get its first tester were soon to be discharged from the hospital.   

Phase 2 

During Phase 2, as claimed through coronavirus vaccines news. It got cleared that the second phase will be treating people based on efficiency and immunogenicity/generation of the immune response. This is one of the crucial stages as the researchers and team of doctors will witness whether the corona vaccine is healing the human body with the desired immune system. Alongside this, examining the percentage of the vaccine should be used on the basis of a person’s response. 

Phase 3 

During Phase 3, this will be the final shot of the Research that will finally claim whether this coronavirus vaccine is successful or not. These coronavirus trials will be conducted over thousands of people who will show significant traces of strong immunity response after the vaccine has started working in the body. 

Final Research still Under-Process 

Well, as the reports from the sources claim, it is still unclear whether phase 2 coronavirus trials will be conducted or not. Followed by phase 3 that it claims to be the most severe part of the complete coronavirus trials. However, it was also asserted by the higher officials that vaccines could only be used by armed forces and not for public usage. The Russian Regulatory Authority still needs to decide whether they need to have phase 3 or not. 

Contrary to this, ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) stated that any country could make coronavirus vaccines, but India will determine it for the production or not. According to the latest news, ICMR Director-General Dr Balram Bhargava stated by addressing a press conference that India & China have the apt infrastructure for mass production of the vaccines. Supporting his point, Dr Bhargava said, “India is considered as the pharmacy of the world” that also focuses the strong relations with India and the USA in terms of sharing 60% of market share that is solely developed by exporting Indian origin medicines to the US. 

As per the latest news, it is learned that India has got two indigenous candidate vaccines with which scientists are trying their best to fast-track it as their moral duty is to curb down the pandemic as soon as possible.
